Tantalizing Teaser

Tantalizing Tuesday is all about writing 200 word Tantalizing Teasers, inspired by a personal picture prompt to post on Tuesdays. The emphasis is on having fun, pictures can be anything that takes our fancy. I hope you enjoy what we have to offer.

“Davey, stop messing around! This neighborhood is completely shitty and I’m not playing your silly games.” When Newell was greeted by silence his anger quickly turned to fear, his best friend would have given up the joke by now. A quick glance around the dark parking lot showed it was as deserted now as it had been twenty minutes ago when New had left the club. He once again tried Davey’s cell phone and heard the faint strains of Dancing Queen. He cursed his friend’s warped sense of humor. When he rounded another row of cars he saw Davey sprawled on the ground, brown spray paint spelling FAG across his immaculate white shirt.
Shit!
He had told Davey not to come outside alone as the violence around the club had been escalating, but  he was too stubborn to give in to anyone he considered a bully. New dialled 911 as he rolled his friend over to check out the damage. New wished it wasn’t too serious because the police hadn’t been very helpful the last time Davey had been attacked by a group of homophobic ruffians. A second later he realized this was no ordinary hate crime.

Davey was dead.

Jay couldn’t believe his eyes. The wolf had never been around before he would have definitely noticed. Jay really wanted to walk up to the beast and see just how friendly he was. He looked intelligent, stunning with piercing eyes. They reminded him of the gorgeous man he’d seen the other night at his club. His heart started beating faster as he recalled the warmth of the other man’s touch. Jay had never seen him before, he definitely would have remembered him also. He laughed at the fact he was stiffing just standing here remembering a man he’d barely glanced.

Gregory watched Hale push his child on the swing and envied them their bond, the absolute joy they showed in each other’s company. Gregory knew what a tough time this family was having but looking at them right now it was hard to see how fresh the wounds were. Gregory watched as his niece approached the pair and asked if Hale would push her too. Hale glanced Gregory’s way as if to ask permission and helped Trina into the swing and positioned himself between the two children who excitedly chatted with one another. Thinking now would be the best time to approach him about his sister’s suggestion Gregory got up from where he was sitting on the ground and walked over to the little group and jumped right in, “So Barbara said you were looking for daycare so you can go back to work. I can watch her during the day when I have Trina. The girls get along and it’s not a problem for me.” Gregory saw the doubts cross the other man’s face. “Look I know a male babysitter is a little unusual but I work from home and I have Trina so it wouldn’t be a problem.”

Cain looked on as Twenty-Three stood guard over Ten who cuddled the infant Seventy-Six. The entire pod was enthusiastic over this latest incubation. The population was in a steady increase and the Environmental Response Detail was making great progress on the farming quads. Perhaps they could turn things around and once again be the thriving warriors they had once been. They would have to learn from their past and not be so arrogant. With patience and steady nurturing they would survive. Seventy-Six was their future and now that the cloning kinks had finally worked out things were definitely looking brighter.

Thomas held the faded picture in his hand and was assaulted by the memories. He and John had grown up together, joined the war together and died together. However, only Thomas now lived forever, haunted by the loss of his best friend, the man he had silently longed for but watched marry another and start a family. Over the years he’d made sure John’s descendants were well taken care of but he had always been involved from a distance, never getting close enough to make direct contact. That was until today.Thomas found himself drawn to a crowded, loud gay bar, a place he would normally avoid. He didn’t know what had made him step inside but as he turned to leave he collided with a warm, solid body. He found himself looking into a pair of eyes miraculously similar to his lost love’s.
Time seemed to stand still for Thomas, the world stopped existing and the only thing that mattered was the musky scent of sandalwood and nutmeg. But that wasn’t quiet right. John had had a slight scent of vanilla but then again Thomas did not possess the heightened senses he did now so his memory might be mistaken.

Elliot tried to hide his smirk. Last night his coworkers had thought it was a great idea to party like rock stars. This morning they were paying for it. He’d warned them to wait until after the trade show and conference to run wild in Sin City.

He briefly let his mind wander to Terrence, the top sales rep of their chief competitor; they would meet up later this week and indulge in their annual fling. But first Elliot had to get his rag tag team in shape to face a frantic day at his favorite event of the year.

Unofficial Six Sentence Sunday

I hope you enjoy my six sentences this Sunday. Because I keep forgetting to sign up every week I thought it was easier to simply create my own logo :-)

I'm playing around with another idea. Hope you ejoy this one!

Gregory tried not to eavesdrop, really he did but as he worked in the front office the neighbors’ voices carried and he heard every word as if he was part of the conversation. Ever since he’d moved in last year, he was privy to half their arguments and knew intimate details of their life. But it would seem that this would be the final one; she’d had enough and was leaving. Gregory heard the big man’s sobs and his heart ached for the child and his father. Brad was one of the nicest men Gregory had ever encountered and he’d been attracted to him at glance and was disappointed to find out he was married. Gregory personally thought they were better off without the selfish bitch and he would do whatever it took to make things easier for them.

“Darla what the hell have you done this time?” Stewart surveyed his once impeccable condo and regretted, not for the first time, letting his flighty sister temporarily move in with him. She’d been nothing but a headache to him from the moment she showed up with her well-worn duffel bag and her latest unemployment woes. Darla’s disruption to his normal routine caused him a relationship, not that he was upset to see Peter leave but he’d lost a few clients too. Family was family.

“Why does my place look like a tacky eastern brothel and where is all my furniture?”
